Sodium Bicarbonate

Would Recommend

This is sodium bicarbonate, AKA baking soda. It is the right chemical for the job, but you can get it for less than a dollar per pound if you just grab good ole baking soda from anywhere (for hot tub amounts) or restaurant store(for large scale/pools). For maintaining all around pool/spa water chemistry, also look into Borax(sodium borate) and soda ash(sodium carbonate) (not marketed for pool use) for the exact same product sold cheaper.

This is Sodium Bicarbonate, Not Sodium Carbonate

Would Not Recommend

The product blurb said this is Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate. This is another name for Sodium Bicarbonate. If you don't want a blanket of snow on the bottom of your pool, don't buy this. This has a PH of 8. Sodium Carbonate has a PH of 11.
