I suppose it could be done without the torching but there is a purpose to it. I bought the convertible kit because sooner or later when I sell this 2 bedroom 1 bath house, it will still have a bathtub.

It is a great, solid product. You do have to have someone who knows what they're doing to install it though. But it works wonderfully! My friend has balance issues and severe pain lifting her legs. This thing is more economical than replacing a whole tub with a walk in. Our tub is a really old fiberglass one. The videos on the Cleancut's website were awesome for my Uncle to install it!

So far, appears to be an ideal product. Cost was about 1/6 of having the tub removed and replaced with a walk-in shower, including extensive carpentry and plumbing work. Thanks for making this product available at an affordable price. Will enable us to stay in our home for many years!
