Would Not RecommendThe main reason why one should get a grill mat is to help protect the surface underneath it from anything hot. I was a bit worried about the material it was made of, but figured I'd give it a try. My main use for it is under a tent stove in a hot tent, so the heat source is a lot closer to the mat then a grill would be. There's also a significantly higher risk of something hot landing on it. I had a stray coal come out of the stove as I was pulling the ash pan out. It melted right through ...
