I know nothing o f Db ratings, but this unit is pretty quiet from the front and not bas from the back/muffler side either. The one tip I would give is to make sure the gas cap is on all the way, else the engine will stutter and fluctuate trying to get gas. Would RecommendI bought this generator in preparation for hurricane Irma coming to Tampa. After receiving the generator I un-boxed it and realized there was no assembly to be done at all. I put in the specified amount of oil, filled the gas tank, turned on the choke and it started on the second pull. Interestingly, we never lost power at my home so I lent the generator to a friend who wasn't so fortunate and he used it for a day without issue. Would Not RecommendRight out of the box. Added oil and connected the battery. Added gas, cranked and let it run for several minutes and I could not get voltage to the 120v side. The 12 Volt worked. No circuit breakers were tripped. I bought this for Hurricane Irma. I am glad that I did not need it as It would have failed me from the start

Running a large "dorm" fridge, small microwave, a couple of fans, a tv, some lamps, coffee pot, etc. in econony mode with no problems. So far, so good. Would RecommendRuns great, did everything I needed it to do... quietly. Easily ran my RV air conditioner, and when i shut the AC off, it would run in economy mode through the night on one tank of fuel. Easy to start, easy to lift and maneuver. No complaints at all.

Would RecommendWanted a super quiet generator that could start a twin turbine blower that requires 23 amps to start. Found this on sale and the reviews seemed favorable enough to try it. Far exceeded my expectations in power, ease of starting, and quiet operation. Filled the oil and gas, 2 pulls and it fired and ran. We have run it about 15 hours so far, so I don't know about longevity, but for the price I can buy 4 of these for what a comparable wattage Honda costs.
