Ratings & Reviews for CargoSmart 40-in to 70-in Adjustable Ratcheting Cargo Bar
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The adjustable ratcheting cargo bar is generally well-received for its ease of use and sturdy construction, effectively securing light to medium-weight items in the truck bed. The ratcheting mechanism is praised for tightly holding the bar in place. However, some users note the bar may not be suitable for heavier loads, as it can flex or pop off under sudden stops or impacts. The release mechanism is also reported as tricky or difficult to operate by a few reviewers. Overall, the cargo bar performs well for its intended purpose of keeping lighter cargo from sliding around, but has limitations in terms of maximum weight capacity.

Would RecommendExactly what I was looking for to keep my cooler from sliding around. Was very easy to use the ratchet system to extend it. And quick release. Caution the bar will be under pressure when it releases. Be aware. I was able to use a tye down strap and bar and never worry about sliding around.

Pretty Good, Best Bang for the Buck
Would RecommendIt did come off one time, but I think that was my fault for not tightening it up. I am a USMC Combat Instructor so I keep ALL my gear on me every where I go and this manages to hold the weight of a 24 pack of Energy Drinks, 24 pack of protein shakes, my Main Pack that has 65lbs, full PPE kit, boots (2 pairs), my assault pack, Amo Can and any other extra gear I carry around. I drive all over dirt roads and bumpy roads which would scatter and push my gear towards the front of bed. This bar keeps i...

light duty
Would RecommendBar seems good for light duty separation. Not for heavy stuff like full gas cans, but okay for groceries.

Nice cargo bar
Would RecommendI screwed up and didn’t measure my bed width. It’s about an inch short on a 2020 GMC AT4. It was about 2” short but the flexible ends had recessed for holes so I just screwed some wood blocks on the end. PERFECT!!

Strong but hard to reduce
Have given this thought as reviews help us decide. It does serve its purpose. It is strong. At our age it is hard to climb in truck bed. This bar holds our boxes were we can get to them. The negative is it is difficult to reduce the rod for repositioning. Even after reading the Q/A. I looked for a u tube that may help make it easier. For the money it is worth the price. Hope you get a u tube link
Poor Quality. Light Duty
Would Not RecommendBought this to use on my work truck. I have a CM utility bed. When i ratcheted it to where it felt tight it kept coning off. When i ratcheted it tighter it broke a tooth off the ratchet gear.
nice product
Would RecommendDoes exactly what it's meant to. Fairly simple to use if you already know how to use a ratchet strap.

Great for holding items in place.
Would RecommendI have used one these for years. My last one lasted 10 years in the bed of my work truck. It holds all my pool buckets in place so they don’t slide around while I’m working. Great for any truck bed.

Cargo Smart 40-60 inch Adjustable Cargo Bar
Would RecommendThe anchors in my new truck are not adjustable, so this bar is indispensible. It easily helps anchor cargo and keep it from sliding around. Easy to install and remove. The ratchet feature is very handy and you can really crank it down for the perfect fit.

Crap Keeper
Would RecommendI had to get this to keep some empty gas cans from exploring my entire bed and once full from sliding all over the place and possibly spilling gas if tipped over. No longer do these dreams keep me awake. Its a perfect fit and now permanently resides in the bed about 18 inches from the tailgate to keep small stuff in place. Its stupid easy and less hassle instead of using ratchet straps. I am gonna get another one for my other truck for the same reason.
