Bought this saw new but after using it for a few jobs it started to smoke and smell really bad after almost 2 years of owning it. I love this saw it still looks new but wished it lasted longer than it did.
Not designed for heavy commercial usage.
Would RecommendOriginal lasted 2.5 years. Have other 20 volts craftsman 20 volts cordless and lots of batteries. Main reason I went with another craftsman.

Watch for pinch points
Any of these reciprocating saws require a lot of power, so be sure to use a larger battery. More importantly, this model has design issues that make it less safe than many other models. Please notice that putting any of your fingers near the top of the tool could result in it being pinched as the saw oscillates toward the rear. Evidently the ease of changing the blade was considered more important than safety.
