Paintable Octagon Gable Vent

This product came in quickly and upon inspection I found it to be great quality and just the right detail for my custom garden sheds! Will send a photo when sheds are delivered.

Opening Size

Your product description cites a 9 X 9 rough opening area. The vent opening is based upon the snap-on cover being used as a template. Change your description sop the prospective buyers have a better idea as to how to install the vent.

Rectangular Vinyl Gable Vent 20 x 30

I ordered vent from Lowes that had dimension described as 24" x 30" . After a week of waiting for the special order, It arrived in the wrong size (20 x30). The Lowes assoc spoke with the vender (Builders Edge) and learned that the 24 x 30 size gable vent was no longer available and was replaced with 20 x 30. Vender had not alerted Lowes to the change, because on Lowes website the 24 x 30 model appears to be available as a special order item. I have an opening in my gable/attic access that is 24"...

Vent is great. But the description of the product and its installation is poorly written. Have a 14 year old house that I Installed the vent in the gable above the garage. The way the description made it sound you could install in on an existing surface, not one you are going to put on after the vent is installed. Vent was an easy install, was a special order - received damaged in shipping - made work anyway, alittle confused with painting of vent - box that it came in reads DO NOT PAINT - instructions in box read - THIS PRODUCT MUST BE PAINTED - go figure !

Good quality, high wind design

I've installed this now on 4 different houses and it's easy to install. The only hard part is finding long enough roofing nails to hold it down . The design allows for good air flow over others I've seen. It stands a full inch tall. It has wind channels which keep water out in a driving rain. Top Gable vent with Rounded top

I ordered these for the gables in my addition and am pleased with the look. The construction guys didn't seem to have too much problem putting them in..... so far so good. I would recommend them at least at this point.

Worked well. Easy to paint.

Does not fit over existing siding very well. Use lots of caulk to fill gaps. Looks fine after placing the snap-on trim. Paintable, so just matched the house.

Vent looks good; some modification needed

The vent was easy to install from the exterior and looks good. However, this vent had flat black plastic strips/ribbing added between the fabric screening and the vent louvers. I think they were meant to block the view into the attic when looking from street level, but unfortunately they would also block air movement through the vent since they covered about 1/2 of the total opening area. I had to rip out the fabric screening to remove the plastic strips and replace the screen. I wanted to repla...
