What Customers Are Saying
The product is generally effective at making clean, straight cuts on smaller diameter PVC and plastic pipes, with a ratcheting mechanism that provides good precision and control. However, it struggles with larger diameter pipes and some users report issues with the blade chipping or the gear mechanism bending. While suitable for DIY and home projects, the tool's limitations may be a concern for more demanding professional use.

Can't buy Blades!
Would Not RecommendFor $19.95 It was the "stuff" the first day on 1" & 11/4". The blade started to chip away. It is very brittle. And as in the title, you can't buy blades. Now today I see they are no longer available from Lowes at all. Twenty Dollar lesson.
Hi Spud, thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience. Even though they are not showing as "available" on Lowes.com, these blades can ...

Well made. Actually underpriced.
Would RecommendI used it to install a thermal expansion tank, using PEX piping and Sharkbite fittings. Very clean cuts. I haven't tried it on PVC, but it seems very substantial. And it's relatively underpriced.

It WORKS!
Would RecommendThis is a heavy duty tool built to cut PVC pipe in all sizes up to 1 1/4" and it does that very well. It is easy to use with a blade that is heavy steel and cuts clean and smooth edges without collapsing or breaking the pipe. Under home handyman use it should last a lifetime. Professional daily use you could expect losing it or theft before it wears out. I recommend it.

BrassCraft PVC Cutter
Would RecommendWorks very well. I use this tool a lot. If you’re working with plastic pipe these tools are awesome. The larger cutter is awesome as well. I recommend buying both.

The Good & The Bad
Would RecommendWorks fine on schedule 40. But when I tried to cut a 3/4" schedule 20 PVC line to install a T for my existing HVAC drain line the cutter cracked the pipe. BTW if the HVAC contractor had given me the choice between schedule 20 and schedule 40 I would had paid the few extra pennies for the 40. Schedule 20 is junk in my book.

Cutting pvc is easier with these than a hacksaw.
Would RecommendUsed a hacksaw to cut my main water line for repair. Purchased a shark bite coupling and these pvc cutters. Cleaned up my cuts and got a great seal with the use of these. Very easy and love the ratcheting cut.
