This electric planer by Bosch is light to handle yet delivered an excellent planed wood threshold. Very glad I chose Bosch at a very reasonable price!

You will knot be disappointed with this Planer!!!!

Works great

Easy to use works like it should. The only thing is there are no replacement blades with it and or at Lowe's and when you look online for the blades ( PA1202 ) They do not match what's on the planer.

Bad design

Sometimes it does ok, other times it planes at such an angle that it leaves a 1/8 in groove left to right and ruins the material. Very disappointed in whatever counterbalance system you have! It doesn't work!

My only Bosch purchase disappointment.

I have had this Bosch planer (PL1632) for a little over a year and have used it a several times for fine adjustment of interior doors. Recent attempts to use this planer on thinner edged stock (3/4 and 1 inch) have shown the out-of-square guide fence problem that has been previously reported and impossible to resolve using the materials supplied within the planer. Recommend you include 1 1/2" exhaust port adapter

Good working weight - doesn't make your hands tired. The vertical side piece needs to be longer depth-wise as the current short version allows sway from vertical as you walk a long piece (ie door). The one blade cutter works well - as it is balanced. Probably need to suggest Lowe's carry spare cutter blades as I am sure I will be going through several on medium size jobs.

This thing is great! Took almost a 1/8 off of a 2x4 pretty easily in a couple passes. Never bogged down. Just dont hit screws or nails! It will ruin your blades. Buy extra blades! Blades are double sided and you can flip them over provided the blade doesn't have any cracks to get a new cutting edge.

Smooth as butter, excellent tool, with adjustments down to 1/64th its hard to go wrong. The edge guide is super important when planing the edge of a board. Recently had a kitchen cabinet job where the middle of a row of cabs was going to be VERY late and the others had to be installed. When the missing cab arrived Of course it was too wide.
