I see a lot of great reviews pre COVID, but post COVID, not many. As with many products post COVID, the quality has gone down. Beware the current product doesn't hold up with a lot of clothes. Definitely nowhere near 1000 lbs as described. The rod is very sturdy, but not all align the same, and the plastic end piece that holds up the rod isn't sturdy enough. It breaks with too much weight. Plastic rod holder breaks easily

I agree with all the reviews about poor quality rod holders and that some aren't aligned the same, especially if they are purchased years apart. The bracket material itself is great, but the plastic end that holds the rod breaks easily. I definitely didn't have anywhere near 1000 lbs of clothes on the rod, but it broke anyway, and all my clothes ended up on the floor. I love the sturdiness of the bracket. I hate the PLASTIC rod holder. This is the third time I have to replace brackets in my closet because of the WEAK PLASTIC rod holder.

Great brackets

Obviously the plastic piece should not be used. The heavy duty description and 1000 lb rating is for the metal hook/rod support portion, not the plastic piece. These used to be sold without that dumb plastic piece anyway, I had bought a couple like that in the past. Not sure why they started including that plastic adapter. Plastic rod holders broke in less than 3 months. Luckily when the clothes fell down the metal rod did not break through the brand new glass doors I installed as well. That would have been another 400 dollars on top of the 60 something dollars I wasted on these. The leg that attaches to the wall is also much shorter than a standard shelf bracket so if you have to install a backing board to the wall for support, be ready to tear out these boards, install new ones, silicone and paint again.
