Would Not RecommendI bought this filter in the Lowes store for my Aprilaire 500A humidifier. Didn't realize it's a paper filter, but I tried it anyway. I was concerned because it's approximately 2/3 the thickness of the metal pad it was replacing. It leaked. I tried adjusting it, reconnecting the panel frame, adjusting the water pipe, etc. Still leaked all over my furnace and floor several times over the course of about a week. I think the thickness was a factor in this problem. I'll be returning this one for eith...

My daughter called me and said her air was dry, could I check her humidifier?, I asked when was the last time she changed her filter pad, she didnt know there was one in there. It had been 10 years. This was an economical exact fit pad...she will change at least yearly from now on.

Would RecommendMost people don't think about changing their humidifier water pad. It should change it at least every fall, before the dry air season begins. It's easy to do, took me less than 2 minutes. There are different sizes. Look before you leave for Lowe's.
