Bought this a year ago, worked fine for our needs but the insert in the steam vent on the lid has disappeared making the rice turn to mush. Of course can’t replace the plastic insert so it’s now junk

Broke after less than 3 months of use

I purchased this in January and used it maybe once a week, and it burned out during cooking.

Love This Rice Cooker!

I decided to start out making risotto and I couldn't believe how easy the process was. Usually with risotto you have to stir it constantly, but with this rice cooker, the stirring arm does all the work. All you have to do is add the chicken broth and let the cooker do it's thing! I typically make a double batch and the cooker is still able to keep up...

Amazing rice cooker

I’ve been using this appliance at least once a week for 7 months now and it’s still works great! Makes perfect rice every time. Although, the pot is now sratched and needs to be replaced. Do not use metal when taking food out ... otherwise it’s perfect

Simple and easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like to use it for light cooking and mainly making varieties of rice. I don’t think it’s suitable for heavy cooking as it tends to scratch easy. And the slow cooker option tends to stop working frequently.

Cook function is not working

I just bought this rice cooker, and am very disappointed as it switches to the warm function only a few minutes after turning on the cook function, leaving the rice uncooked. I have used it twice up to now, for two different quantities of rice, and ended up with the same result. This appliance simply does not work

Perfect rice every time

Big batch, no problem! Works like a charm every time. Time saver and so easy to clean.

Not good

Unfortunately the unit burned out after being used about 5 or 6 times and will no longer turn on.

Doesnt shut off when rice is cooked

I just bought this rice to replace a smaller older one I had. I wanted a tad bigger one to use for steaming more veggies and loved the size of it. But what I don't like is that fact it doesn't shut off after that 20 min. mark when everything is cooked. You have to use a timer on the stove or microwave. I'm not liking that part and will return it because of that fact. Black & Decker has always been a good brand that holds up to the years of usage. I have a B/D mini shortcut food processor tha...

I bought this product but was surprised a recipe book did not accompany it. Does anyone know where to find a collection of products for this rice cooker or can I use generic recipes?

Useless

I purchased 2 of these rice cookers because they are perfect for my families needs and have great features. I really like this rice cooker. Unfortunately, I have gone through 2 of these AS WELL AS THE 8 CUP RICE COOKER. All three of these rice cookers have crapped out on me. None of them have lasted more than a year. The third one just conked out right now as I was making rice for supper. Not pleased.

Don't Bother

Much like everyone else, my cooker stopped working on the second use. I had a smaller unit previously that stopped working after about a year. Bought this one because hey, the family is now bigger and we needed one. So disappointed.

Stopped after 2nd use

We could not even use this rice cooker twice! The second time it just shut off in the middle of cooking and would not turn back on. It was bought brand new and would have had no reason not to function.

Total Waste!

I join other reviewers in saying don't waste your time! I received this rice cooker as a gift a few months ago and after using it for no more than 4 times it will not light up or work. I am very disappointed. The Black and Decker name used to mean quality. Not this time!

NO on/off switch...no timer

I bought this appliance a few months ago. Unlike others, it has not stopped working. I was replacing another Black & Decker cooker I had for years! I cook vegetables in mine. There is NO ON/OFF switch or a timer. So even though it is not the least expensive model, it makes life difficult.

Wow, this sucks!!!!

I purchased less than 3 months ago...it stopped heating...it stopped lighting up. Total waste. I tried to register item online...B+D site "can't locate item" for me to register...guess B+D's warranty is useless. Utter waste. Totally disappointed.

I Give Up Black and Decker

I'm sorry, Black and Decker, but I give up! I'm on the second rice cooker and this too has stopped working. All I need is a dependable appliance that cooks rice. Maybe I' just unlucky as the first rice cooker lasted three uses before it stopped working and this one was on it's maiden voyage. I'm looking elsewhere or just going back to cooking rice in a pot. Nothing makes for a bad day when everything is ready to go for dinner only to find that the rice cooker stopped working. Sorry again, B&D, b...
