Has been an sander until it caught fire and smoked

I’ve been using one for several years on an automotive project. I took a hiatus for several months and was five minutes back into the project when there was a flash, a short lived fire and it smoked. The fire wasn’t a big deal and I was busy unplugging it. It smoked for a few minutes as witnessed in my video. I’m weighing my options now for a few ones. This one was good until it wasn’t. 4 Years of heavy use.

After 4 years of sanding miles and miles of everything from wood floors to plaster walls, this sander has seen it all. It's the thin set dust that really wound up killing my much loved sander. I opened it up and cleaned it but it didn't help too much. So I just went out and bought the exact model brand new from Lowe's again. I was happy to see that it's still very low priced and available. Well worth the $45. And I will buy it again if they keep this model in stock.

Good until it wasn’t.

I bought this in 2020 for a refinishing project. It has never failed until recently. It has no power anymore and is rendered useless. I expect my powertools to last a little longer than 3 years, even with the use and abuse they receive from my laundry list of projects. 3 years, 3 stars. When it only cost $30, I’d have given it 4 stars, but at $42, might as well find another $10 and just buy the Craftsman or Skil version.

Perfect for me. I cannot believe I waited so long. It made the work I’ve been doing on refinishing 100x easier and no marks

Great Sander

I have this exact sander and it has lasted me roughly 8 years, the original box is dated from 2015, I am a typical homeowner who uses it for projects, both automotive and wood refinishing. I think I’m going to buy another one as my original was a real trooper!

It was good, until it wasn't.

I've used this on a few heavy duty project and thought it was great...until it stopped working properly. From my findings I believe the motor is shot. it smokes when I use it and spins, but stops once I press it onto any surface. I don't have the time to replace the motor so I will be replacing this with something different.

Dust Management is a joke

Bought this sander this morning. My last sander didn't have the dust bag so I was happy to try this and avoid all the mess. What a joke! There was more sanding dust all over the surfaces within 10ft than there was in the bag. Otherwise it worked ok but don't add a feature on your products that doesn't deliver.
