Can’t just use by itself.
The cap fit the threads on the water valve exactly. But, I had to use a rubber washer inside the cap and teflon tape on the threads or it would leak.

Would RecommendMy new refrigerator did not need a water line, so I capped off the water fitting at the wall to prevent water leakage damage. Good quality cap and fit perfectly. At the store they had a display of fittings to help you select the proper size. I cut off the end of the water line on the old fridge and took it to the store to get the cap that fit my wall line. A water leak behind the refrigerator could do extensive structural damage by the time you find it.
