I installed a shower valve which required 3 of this 3/4" to 1/2" adapter which I purchased at Lowes. After installation the the fitting (right out of the bag) using teflon tape, the hot water side dripped a slow leak. After unsoldering the valve and removing all fittings, I re-assembled using pipe dope this time and tightened to the max. I realized that it was not the valve threads that were the problem as this time the leak was on the cold water side as I had swapped the side the fittings wer...
