This product actually fits two different styles of backflow prevention faucets. In order to make it work for the second style, one must disassemble half of the unit when I went to purchase the unit three people in the store can understand why it wouldn’t fit. Finally, I received information from a plumber that told me the product had two sets of female threads design for different manufacturers of the faucets. Would RecommendFor the life of me I cannot figure out why hose bibs have a different thread pattern than do hoses. This vacuum breaker comes with the fine threads that attach to the hose bib and the proper threads to fit every hose on the market. It drains the faucet nicely after use and thus alleviates the problem of freezing faucet. Like other reviewers, I do NOT use the set screw. I just crank it onto the faucet and no leaks.
Don't use the Break-away set screw.
Would RecommendLiked the function. Did not like the break-away set screw. If you tightened that to the point of the break-away, it would be VERY difficult to remove and replace the vacuum breaker in the future. You should remove that set screw, and use 5-mm 0.8 x 8-mm Socket Hex-Drive Set Screw
