It is so nice to know that your mail is always safe when you’re away from home. The box even accommodates small packages, like mail order shirts and school items.

Sturdy and secure

Works great; easy access both front and back, and can accommodate small packages (think prescription refill bottles). Large capacity can mean being gone for a few days without putting a mail-hold at the PO and not worrying about pilferage.

My wife and I are very satisfied with our purchase. Our mail was stolen several times in the past. The postmaster had suggested that we changed it to a locking mailbox. We purchased two pewter color mailboxes and one is for our neighbor. It is very sturdy and secure.

Did the job

Was wanting a secure mailbox as we receive our prescriptions by mail and we often don't pick up our mail until later a night and there have been reports of looting in the area.

Strong quality construction, bad for outgoing mail

There's no question that this mailbox has strong anti-theft features. It is well built and good looking. BUT, the clip inside the door for outgoing mail is flimsy and will hold only a few regular small or business size envelopes. Anything else (like an oversize greeting card or any size package) will not fit. If you try to bend it or force it to fit, it just falls inside the mailbox where the carrier cannot reach it. You either have to wait for the mail carrier and hand it to them directly or...

Makes getting small packages a royal pain

The attractive appearance and security features of this large locking mailbox are nice enough but since my postal carrier cannot get small packages into it, after six months she has stopped taking them to my door. She leaves a notice that says “Box locked” and I now have to stand in line for them at the post office. The post office tells me that if the package is small enough to fit inside a standard non-locking mailbox but will not fit into the slot of my locking mailbox, they will not delive...

Box is awkward.

Most issues are my fault for buying it in the first place. The deposit door is small and the postal person has to get out of the car and place most small parcels on the front porch. The outgoing mail has a clip on the already small deposit door. The worst part is the lock, none of the keys work well making opening it a royal pain. The box seems to be made well with stronger that normal metal. I really would not recommend this box for anything other than normal envelops.

Wouldn't buy it again

Very hard to send outgoing mail. Cheap clip to hold mail from falling inside box doesn't work.

A very sturdy mailbox

I just got it installed a few days ago. Cut a couple of 2x4, drill 4 holes, buy 4 3/8 carriage bolts and your ready. It looks great and is very sturdy. This one replaces my old locking mail box that someone pried it open. They will have to work harder with this one. The nicest feature was that there is a back door.

Very large mailbox

Make sure to look at the dimensions of this mailbox before you purchase it. It is larger than a conventional mailbox. Also, the slot won’t allow for large packages so they would still need to be dropped by your door. Lastly, I purchased this item online for in store pick up. Best locking mailbox in traditional style

I literally researched mailboxes for hours on the Internet as well as visiting a few stores in my local area. There are many traditional style mailboxes on the market that lock, but the designs are very poor. This is the only one I could find in a post mount set up that actually works well! Good mailbox

This seems to be a good product, well made - although it's metal and may still rust. We'll see how it holds up for the rest of this Winter to see if it looks as good as it does now, by the end of Summer! Easy to put together and install.
