Installed two last week, and I am very happy with these. Ordered two for outdoor lights - one for a porch under an eave, and the other for over a garage. I have it set for dusk to dawn. They are working well - they go on and off as soon as enough light or darkness reaches them. The one over the garage goes on last and off first because of its location. I think the secret to these working properly is to follow the instructions completely (which unfortunately are written in extremely tiny print!)...

Inexpensive yet effective

Installed over 18 months ago and works well as a dusk to dawn automatic light. Just screw into socket, add light bulb and you're ready.

Don't buy it.

I installed the fixture, turned it on, it worked one time. I installed the other side of my garage light with one, turned both on, the other one worked as well. Come dark, only one worked. The other one wouldn't come on at all. I grabbed my electrical tester, it showed no power at all going to the device. It was only a few bucks, but I won't be buying another one. Guaranteed.

Great product

Needed 4 outdoor light timers that would turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn. Compared to other products I have purchased This product works GREAT!! Bottom line….it does what it’s supposed to do daily. What more can I ask?

I purchased 2 of these for my garage outdoor lights about 3 weeks ago. I must say I’m very happy so far with their performance. I have them turning on at dusk and off at dawn. So far 👍

Needed to replace an older light sensor in our outdoor lampost that was no longer sensing properly (staying on at dawn). This is a programmable sensor that can be programmed to turn off the light in 2, 3, 4, or 8 hours, or it can be used in the default dusk-to-dawn mode, which is how I use it. It works with incandescent, flourescent, or LED bulbs, with bulb facing up or down, and is suitable for damp locations in enclosed fixtures. I use a 7 watt LED bulb with mine, and it works fine, staying on...

Gets the job done

Bought at and are using at our primary residence to decided to buy for a rental property. Works pretty well. The key is to make sure the light sensor is properly lined up.

Bright sunlight required

Turns on but not off. Apparently this is made for an exterior lamppost not a porch light. If the lamp is under a cover (porch roof) the daylight is not sufficient to activate the photo sensor that is deep inside the socket. Another disadvantage is you must press a button to set the device to operate dusk to dawn. My lamp has a glass enclosure that make access to the button extremely difficult.
