Would RecommendNeither the base nor the lift screw ends are attached to the pole, while this makes it easy to shorten the pole it is also somewhat awkward to hold in place during installation. Also the metal base is about 4"x6" in size and needs to be cut down if you plan on using a prefab post base. Overall a good product at a good price. Had to wait about a week to receive as none of the Lowes stores carried this size in stock.
Quick and easy!
Would RecommendQuick, easy and simple to use. Used 6 in basement to support 1st floor after the original supports rusted away. Home is 200 years old and these support took the load without and problems. Very satisfied with purchase and Lowes.
Does what you'd expect from a steel column
Would RecommendThere's not a lot to say. If you need an adjustable steel bulding column in this height range, then this is a good deal. The plate on the screw side tilts to allow for an uneven floor and the adjustment screw turns quite easily. I was able to get a snug fit in just a couple minutes.
Great product for our limited ceiling height
Would RecommendWe got these because we needed to support the granite in our kitchen remodel. We needed them because our basement height is lower than usual. Our house is an older home. Worked great and as expected. Definitely did the job!
Works great - easy to use
Would RecommendMy husband used the floor jack to lift a sagging deck floor. He said it was very easy to adjust even though it was in a tight spot and hard to access. The plates worked fine and we found they were very durable. They are self centering plates, so the overhead weight keeps everything in place. Excellent product!
Great product. Low cost, good quality.
Would RecommendGreat for working on foundation repair on a pier and beam structure.
jacked about this product
Would RecommendHad to jack the kitchen floor level over a crawl space. As delivered, they were too long but the tubes were easy to cut with a metal cutting wheel on a miter saw. Worked like a charm.
Easy to Use Floor Jack
Would RecommendThis item seems well-made and sturdy for the most part. I recommend it. The only issues were that the outer tube and /or the inner tube may not be perfectly round which means you may have to tap the tubes with a hammer to get them to slide while adjusting. I also had to use oil on one of the threads and tap the adjusting nut with a hammer to do the fine adjustments. If you need to use this jack at the shortest height, the bolts which hold the two tubes together may interfere a bit with the botto...
Quality product with modifications
Would RecommendI already knew I was going to have to shorten this post a couple inches to make it work for my application, however, the post in it's shortest configuration was just under 15" tall, not the 12" advertised. Fully-extended threads would probably put this near 19" tall at it's peak. Also, one of the three posts I had purchased had several damaged threads on the screw that caused it to jam. A few minutes with a metal file cured this, but I was disappointed that the manufacturer would miss / ship thi...
Upstanding
Would RecommendAfter receiving the Tapco post I installed it under an area that had settled in the 80+ year old home we purchased. Installation and adjustments were simple and safe. I would purchase more of these if needed.
These really work and you can cut them to size
Would RecommendI just installed four of these to bolster a sagging addition. Worked great! The pictures for these are for the larger models, which have an inner tube and an outer tube, which you connect with bolts. These shorter jacks (12" - 15") only have one tube (although for some weird reason mine came with bolts, but there's no way to make use of them with this version of the jack). You get a top plate, a bottom plate, the jack screw and a single tube. In my case, I had 12" of clearance at the lowest po...
screw jack
Would Recommendwas in 4 pieces and you assemble not what I expected but worked just fine.
great bang for buck
Would RecommendPerformed as designed and support weight and adjust easily. The upper and lower plates could stand to be a bit thicker and the indentation for tube alignment could stand to be more pronounced and secure against the pipe portion. It is really nice they come in several different lengths to accommodate different situations, especially for the crawl space application I used them in.
good for moderate support, small area. adequate construction and ease of use
FLOOR JACK
Would RecommendI HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO USE THIS JACK YET, HOWEVER MY FIRST IMPRESSION IS THAT IT APPEARS TO BE MADE WELL. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS ITEM IS THAT THE PLATES ARE NOT ATTACHED. THIS MEANS THAT YOU HAVE TO KEEP TRACK OF THESE THINGS AND ON A CONSTRUCTION SITE SMALL ITEMS TEND TO DISAPPEAR QUICLKY
