bought this with the sweeper and man this little thing just works. I added a couple cinder blocks and strapped them down and went to town. It went together very easy and my zero turn takes it from there. My first year trying out the de thatcher. Im ready to overhaul the lawn. Next is aeration. Things can only get better.

Works really well. I am very impressed at how well, and how much thatch it removed. My only complaint would be the how the handle works to raise the tines when you want to move without them touching the ground. It needs to be stiffer. Maybe a pole type handle would be better that a thin strip of steel. Also, though I can pull the handle back a raise the times well off the ground, the handle falls back before resting against where it catches and this leaves the tines just barely above the grou...

Does what it's supposed to do.

It works as expected. I'd like to see a different way to secure the blocks as the ratchet strap hooks I used got in the way and the blocks didn't sit flat. I wound up just going all the way around. I also put a thin piece of rubber under the blocks to keep the paint protected.

Hard to store.

Not used it yet, so comments on assembly only. Took 3 hours to put it together even though I had read and highlighted parts of instructions earlier. All the parts were there. It takes up a lot of room to store because the handle extends out in one direction and the towing bar in another. Either towing bar or handle needs to be collapsible. One of the tines drags on a wheel. Tried switching out with another one, but same problem. Also tried to adjust where it was held on, but to no avail....

Experience was frustrating. This site is awful, it barely functions. You have not made a good first impression.

The product is designed well but assembly is a little tricky. Getting the tines secured required a hammer to bend the metal to secure them, forget the screwdriver instructions. Needed extra weight to get the tines to dig into the surface at the depth I wanted ( a couple of rectangular cement paving blocks secured with a nylon rope). This makes Weed & Feed and grass seed patching more effective. Used cross-hatch (#) and two way linear (north/south, east/west) patterns to get a good thatch. Does ...

Well worth the money!

Performed exactly as expected, so no surprises. I had to get off occasionally to free the tines of thatch, as described by other reviewers. Well worth the money, considering how much it costs to rent one. Granted, it’s not a commercial unit, but it will pay for itself in a year or two.

I wouldn't recommend this unit for large fields!

The dethatcher is a sturdy piece of equipment.
