Works perfect for saltwater fish tanks

This is a perfect adjustable extension for a saltwater aquarium. I use it from the main plumbing to the return pump. It allows me flexability to do maintenance and exchange pumps. It also allows me a little play when completing the last leg of plumbing. I could see how it would also come in handy for sprinkler plumbing.

adjustable length coupling

My water pipe started leaking between my house and the water meter. I found the leak, but repairing it would be difficult. I would need to unearth a long length of the pipe in order to make the pipe flexible enough to insert the new section inline. But, the Lowes plumbing expert showed this adjustable coupling that allowed me to connect the old/new sections. Worked great. No leaks.

Love these for easy repair

Bought a couple and they worked great.

These are a life saver to fix a cracked pipe. You can be off a little bit in your measurements and it will not make any difference as there is a large range. My suggestion, to make put it in the middle area when making your cuts so you have room either way if you make the cut too long or too short.

Doesn't leak

This gives me some flexability when hooking up a sprinkler system. It slides in and out about 4 inches giving me room to make the connection plus or minus 2 inches. This way I don't have to flex anything to make or break the connection.

Repair or clean out

I purchased this repair coupling as a way to have a clean out connection on the condensation drain pipe on my air conditioner. It works great.

Clever Design, but...

This is an ideal coupling for fixing broken PVC pipes where you don't have enough clearance to get two full couplings in place. The expansion - from 7-1/2" to 9-3/4" (for the 3/4" coupling) is great. Unfortunately, I installed this and, while my glued joints are fine, the coupling itself is leaking. Now I have to cut this out and replace it. Do I return this to Lowe's and take a chance on another one?

Perfect product to fix a brocken underground pipe

I accidentally broken a 3/4" underground irrigation pipe when digging a hole for a plant. This coupling allowed me to quickly fix the broken pipe. I only had to expose about 1' of the pipe to cut out a piece of the old pipe and insert this coupling. There was minimal need to flex the existing pipe to insert the coupling. The fact the the coupling telescopes to contract to fit it in between the two cut ends and then expands to make the connection is ingenious. This was much easier to use than ...

coupling with variable length, Amazing product

i used it for repairing my sprinkler system which has broken pipe,, this gives you length adjustment from 0 to 4" which is so nice that you dont have to cut precise length of pipe,,, let say, pipe to pipe distance is approx 12",, cut 10" and put this coupling,,nice technology for saving lots of work,,thanks

Sprinker fix

It made fixing my underground sprinkler system easy when I had a broken pipe. It expands between the 2 joints to fit. Its great and easy to use.
