Buy a different unit

I bought the Mini-Console evaporative humidifier over two months ago. The room is 30 feet and I have it set at 45 humidity. It rarely gets to 35 when running full time 24/7. It's often in the high 20's to low 30's. It does not put white powder over the house, which is great. The filters are in a circular shape in the unit; however, when you buy a replacement filter it's folded in a rectangular box, so it's impossible to get it to lay correctly in the unit.

I’ve had this humidifier for an about three years now. Works flawlessly would buy again.

Built well

I bought this because my dad has one. It's for large rooms. It goes through water fairly quickly, depending on how dry your house is. It does exactly what it's built to do, it's fairly sturdy. I understand it can go through some filters, which are not cheap, but I haven't experienced that yet.

It's okay

It does not put white dust in the air, which is great. It is very loud though where I can hear it upstairs behind closed doors even. I live in a dry climate and it doesn't get anywhere near the humidity level I set it at although it is running 24/7 (it's a 15 foot area that is trying to humidify); I have to refill it 3 times per day. I've only had this for one day so if things change after awhile I'll update my review. My humidity was at 30%. I followed the instructions in setting up the unit, and I placed it near an inner hallway, across the hall from the return air vent. I set the fan to 3, and within 3 hours the humidity was up to 43%.
