Great Oil But Bad Container

I purchased 2 bottles of the oil to use on my shutter hinges and some of my door knobs which was recommended to me by Specialty Hardware to bring back the color. It works great! My black hinges which were faded to a light grey are now black again. But the plastic container is awful. Once you cut the tube as required the cap doesn't fit like it should. I would have gladly paid more for the oil if the old style metal can with the pop up opening and closure method.

oil might be good, can is junk

i lost half the oil the day i got it due to the crap design of the can. the top is pressed on very weakly. it came right off and the poorly balanced can fell over.

Hey, it's 3 in 1 Oil. It lubes stuff It works. I cut the spout where they said. The cap is so hard to yank off, I get lubed. When you tilt the can, the oil literally runs out. Did the dispenser thingy really cost that much? 3 in 1 Oil: 5 stars. Can: 1 star.

Great oil terrible plastic can.

I have used this oil for years and it's my favorite oil. This new plastic container needs to stay upright or it will leak. Also when pulling the cap off the whole spout comes off. With the new packaging I can't use this without getting oil on my hands. The oil is fantastic, but, this container is awful. It's bad enough I'm thinking of alternatives. Just because the packaging is cheaper doesn't mean it's better. Also the plastic is far worse for the environment, it can't even be recycled because ...

stuck rusted bottom bracket on bike

I have enjoyed using 3 in 1 oil my whole life. i was restoring my 1981 bike and encountered a rusted and stuck bottom bracket cup. no penetrating oil would help.i thought about the properties i had observed with 3 in 1. it doesn't evaporate! every thing else i tried would disappear. 3 in 1 oil applied once soaked for three days. it took considerable effort, but less than with the other products that didn't work. the part began to move! i got it apart! best multi-purpose oil ever.

My wife purchased some 3 in 1 oil and thought my grandad used to use this on everything from guns to door hinges and he was and is still the smartest man I know

Telescoping spout leaks

Been using 3 in one for over 50 years. The product is great but this new bottle leaked all over it's shelf and workbench and made a huge mess. Please make a better container.

The best multi-purpose oil you can buy.

This stuff is the best. I use it for any joint that needs lube. I use it constantly for my knives. My bedroom door has been squeaky since we moved in. I was tired of it, so I grabbed a rag and my old bottle of “3 in one” I have had for years. It stopped the squeak. I even bought a new bottle today because my old one is almost empty. I think everyone should have a bottle of it.
