Would RecommendThis oil-base stain is very effective in protecting my wood deck. I previously tried a water-base "stain" from a different manufacturer and that was a complete fiasco. The water-base product did not penetrate the wood at all -- it should have been called paint. The Cabot product does penetrate the wood. It protects the wood better and for a much longer period of time and looks better than the water-base product.

Would RecommendWe purchased the semi transparent, and it was really easy to work with. The product leveled out and no brush marks. Could potentially get away with one coat but going to use two for longer durability. Great color and you can still see the wood green.
