Wouldn’t purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I know the review for this specific paint is primarily about the new design / lid, I did want to point out that the main reason I gave this a three out of five is heavily due to the fact that this paint requires at least two layers of coats. In addition to that, the paint was extremely chunky and was very hard to mix the contents that separated. Nice paint + primer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice, ultra rich and remarkable finish. This paint has it all. Paint + primer formula works great. Great texture and stain resistant finish makes it awesome.

Image inaccurate & Terrible coverage

Patriots Silver is darker than photos. One coat is not enough. Barely covers 75 sq ft with one coat.

Upgrade to Reserve base for colors!

This paint works great with colors and goes on very evenly with no primer.

Worth upgrading to the reserve

This paint went on very well and did not require primer, even when going over colored paint.

One coat coverage

This paint went on smooth and I'm just one coat. It was well worth the price.

Good paint! Covered a darker color pretty well. It did take a bit more than the 400 sqft coverage on label.

Smooth, finish, but did need more than one coat

This paint has a one coat guarantee, but in my experience I did need more than one coat to get full coverage—even though I wasn’t painting over a dark color. I didn’t bother with the guarantee because it wasn’t a big deal for me. That said, I really like that it has primer built in, which makes the process easier. It goes on smoothly, is easy to work with, and once it dries it looks completely flawless with a really nice finish. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

Not one-coat.

For the price paid and for the fact that it says one-coat, I expected it to be just that, one-coat. However, I needed to apply 2 coats, even on walls that were previously light colors. Very disappointed.

Great brand

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Valspar has been a nice quality paint that has been around for a while now. I heard the reserve is even better. It is an eggshell color. Which is perfect because that is the exact meh color I have on my walls at home. I am assuming this is a flat color so it is very basic. Now when spreading this onto the wall it just goes on smooth as butter just flawlessly and seamlessly. Now to get perfect coating you have to invest in good paint brushes and...

Love the plastic containers!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We always use valspar paint, it seems to consistent and always goes on smoothly! We really like the plastic containers with the pour spout. I think they will last longer as the metal ones rust and become impossible to open and use again. Valspar always seems to cover in one coat and sometimes need a second coat but not always.
