Good coverage, 2 coats

Beautiful colors

I HATE painting and have painted a bit in many of the places I have lived. I've used all the "best" paints out there. Well, I thought I had, until I used Valspar. This paint is AMAZING! I don't usually review a product, but this one is well well deserved. If I could rate it a 10 star, I would. Coverage, application, drying and end results were so good that it made my job very easy. Thank you for a great product.

Very little coverage

This is supposed to be a one coat paint. Had to use at least 2 coats and in some areas 3. Was painting over a light colored paint that should not have been a problem. Each gallon is supposed to cover 400sq/ft. Had to buy a second gallon for a 144sq/ft room. The second can was 2 shades darker than the first. Total waste of my time and money. Will never buy again.

One or the other...

You might be able to get 400 sq. ft., you might be able to get one coat coverage, but you won't be able to get both at the same time. Guarantee on can says one coat coverage; the can also indicates up to 400 sq.ft. per gallon. That would leave one to believe, in theory, you should be able to paint four 12.5 x 12.5 x 8 foot walls and achieve satisfactory one coat coverage with one can. The net sq. footage of the room I had to paint was less than 270, the walls were already primed, and yet it was...

Favorite Paint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my go to paint. So easy to apply and the coverage is great! I also love that it cleans up nicely with soap and water. I am always happy with the results

Terrible Coverage

We recently bought a house and chose Valspar paint throughout. We used "Indigo Streamer" to cover a light yellow room. We're three coats in and can still see through in places. Furthermore, we began seeing horrible roller marks after the second coat that didn't improve with the third. We let the coats dry for a full 24 hours to ensure it wasn't a matter of wet versus dry paint but it didn't help. I have no idea how we're going to fix it.

i have used 2 gallon on a bathroom 10x12 and i will have to buy 2 more it seems to cover the walls . this is not panint it is water with white tint

Scuff Marks all over

Color is great, coverage was okay but definitely was not one coat coverage. The slightest touch to paint leaves a mark. This is going in a kids room so there will be plenty of hands on the wall. Good news is the marks will wipe off, but then it leaves a wipe spot on the wall. Going to try a different roller for the 3rd coat in hopes the marks stop showing up. Never had this issue with any paint before

Hate this paint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a gallon to paint one tan wall 8x12 with a burgundy color. I’m now on my 4th coat and can still see thru the paint color to see the tan

So - so

We used this in eggshell to paint over walls with a pale grey on them . It did not come close to one-coat coverage, even over a very light color with another light color. We did all the prep work and made sure we followed usage directions. Very disappointed in this paint. Once the 2 coats were on and dried, it looked good. But we went with this paint specifically and paid more for it because it is supposed to be one-coat coverage. Especially since it was a light color over a similar light color....

What a waste of time

Had two cans mixed at the same time, same formula, same name…two completely different colors. Had to buy two more gallons and the time to repaint. As a contractor…this will be the last time we use Valspar

One coat is a inaccurate

I cleaned my walls and let them dry, took off my outlet and switch covers, used the paint calculator to ensure I was using the correct spread rate and the one coat is not even close to accurate even when following the instructions! I followed the recommendation of making and N and then using up and down strokes but quickly found that I would need much more paint than the paint calculator estimated. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a chance to try Valspar Reserve Interior Paint & Primer. It was nice and smooth, easy to apply, and the paint color looked really nice and was mixed well. I was very happy with the results. I also didn't need as many coats with it being paint and primer product in one.

I originally wanted to try Sherwin Williams but when I went to purchase they didn't have any and recommended this paint which was "better" and also more expensive. For 52.00/gallon I was very disappointed with this paint. It was definitely not a one coat job and more like two with some areas requiring a third. If I had known this was going to be the case I would've just saved my money and bought cheaper paint.

Absolutely not one coat

Bought this today, painted and it is not one coat. Not enough left to do a second. We thought going the best route would be expensive paint that guarantees one coat coverage. We did all the steps properly like their website says and still you can easily see the primer shining through in the whole room. Usually they can’t get the exact same color tint either as the first gal so looks like we will have to buy a whole different brand and start over. Highly upset with this experience and we won’t be...
