Why do the instructions tell you to cut 1/2 inch off each end of the 68.5" rail kit? Can't you just allow for that when you lay out the posts & railkits


Lefty52, Per our installation instructions, the posts are to be installed every 6' or 8' on center. This would be so the posts generally line up with the structural posts for you deck. If this is how the posts are installed (according to the directions on the instructions, the railing will need to be trimmed to fit the brackets between the posts.
