Can this track system be suspended from the ceiling joists by wire supports, instead of being screwed directly to the joists ? Need ceiling 12" lower

The 1190 Easy Up Track will not work wire supports. We would recommend you purchase Armstrong Prelude grid and install a drop ceiling if you need to lower your ceiling. Depending on the amount of coverage area needed and the size ceiling panel you choose, you can either buy the 4 main grid system parts needed at your nearest Lowe's (Model #'s 7400RWH, 7800RWH, XL7328RWH and XL7348RWH) or there are also suspended grid kits available special order that include all the parts needed to install 64 square feet of ceiling.
