If I cut this 500 ft roll into four sections can I use the fourth piece as ground and does there have to be any color difference for wire

Was this Answer Helpful ? The NEC doesn't allow #6 and smaller conductors to be re-identified which means the neutral must be white and the ground must be green. The single phase hot conductors can be the same color. Check with your AHJ for their interpretation and any possible exceptions they may make. By the way, you only need a #10 grounding conductor.
