Yes. This wire is rated both THHN and THWN-2. It can be used in underground conduit.

All the THHN wire I have ever seen is dual rated as THHN/THWN. As long as the wire also has the THWN rating it is approved for use in underground conduit. Go to your nearest Lowes store and ask to see the #6 THHN wire on the big wire wheel and check to see that it has the dual rating.

THWN is required for underground application in pvc conduit. The W in the thWn stands for Water, which means it can be used both in Heat and Water conditions, versus the HH in THHN which indicates only High Heat conditions.

You have to check your local code requirements for your specific application, but typically Copper THHN is not used in buried PVC conduit.
