Can this be used in automotive applications such as under carpet or on door panels and roof headliners?


I would say yes for the headliner if you need the insulation, and a qualified yes for the carpets. This has air bubbles so if they are popped they are less effective. I have heard people use them for winter insoles and that they will last at least a season so don't see why it would not work under floor mats and such..

I have used this to insulate under the carpet and door panels on my '57 Chevy.

This would make an excellent insulation/sound deadener if used in door panels/headers. I wouldn't recommend it under carpet since its insulating value is derived from trapped air bubbles. (You would break these from your weight)
