Is this an insulation you can use alone in the walls of a home


yes it is. If you apply Reflectix in a wall without any air spaces you will gain an R1.1. Applied with an air space you can get up to an R6 in a wall application. Reflectix also adds a vapor barrier as well as a radiant barrier blocking 97% of the radiant heat from entering / leaving your home.
