Can the product be used between roof decking/sheathing and metal roof? I plan on installing metal roofing over 1x4" nailers attached to roof sheathin


you would want to use our radiant barrier (RB4812550) in this application. It is perforated so it breaths and will not cause moisture issues. It reflects heat back at 96%.

Dear Richard: Reflectix and similar reflective / radiant barrier products would provide almost no benefit, sandwiched between your roof deck and the metal roof. Read the Reflectix installation guide carefully, and you will find that a sealed air gap is required in almost all applications. Reflectix provides only R-1 by itself; the air gap is responsible for almost all of the claimed R-value. You obviously cannot create an air gap under the metal roof. There are two good options: (1) Install Foamular Thermapink foam board on the roof deck, or (2) Upgrade the insulation in your attic. I hope this is helpful. Mark
