can this product be used around romex wires in ceilings?


Yes. if you run your cables neatly, for example close together and against a stud/joist (as opposed to crossing all over the place) then it may be easier to insulate around. Either just tuck it right up against the wire, or, notch the insulation out to create a valley of sorts.
