Is this box fan-rated? My fan box is recessed too far into my ceiling drywall and I'm looking for something to extend it out.


This box extender is not rated for ceiling fan use. We recommend removing the existing box and installing one of our brace kits that allow installation in existing construction. Both kits can support 16 or 24 inch joist spans, model #926 can support a ceiling fan of 70 lbs at both joist spans. Model #936 can support a ceiling fan of 35 lbs at the 16 inch span and 70 lbs at the 24 inch span.
