May I mount a ceiling fan with this unit?


No, you must use a ceiling fan box to hang a ceiling fan.

This box is not rated to support ceiling fans - only devices and switches. We recommend our box #294, it features a bracket that allows it to be installed in preexisting or new construction. This box can support a ceiling fan of up to 70 lbs. Or we offer box/brace that can be secured between two joists, model #936. This can also be installed in preexisting or new construction and can support a ceiling fan of 35 lbs when the brace is extended to 24 inches or 70 lbs when the brace is extended to 16 inches.
