What's to keep this from spreading the joists apart when tightening? Seems this would do well to have a counteracting brace to pull joists together.


When the joists are tied together properly by code, and spaced correctly, it is not possible to spread them apart with only hand strength (as per installation instructions) on a 1” diameter rod.
