Do you need any special tool/equipment to tamp down the product?


No, but to be neater, use cardboard to keep your shoes clean

I bought an 8lb hand tamper but you can also carefully drive over it to pack it down, I bought a bag of clean play sand, put the patch down sprinkle the sand over it so it's not tacky and you can drive back and forth over it.

If you have a metal tamp it would help, but you can spread it down and use the end of a board to tamp it. It will take longer but if it's a level area you can do it this way. Then drive over it back and forth to compact it even more. Make sure you wear old clothes and a pair of gloves you don't care to throw away, protect your shoes too. Dump the product out of the bag, don't try to scoop it out either. Good luck.
