Does preen work on weeds after they have started growing? Do you have to put round-up on the weeds first

Thank you for your inquiry! Preen Extended Control Weed Preventer does not kill weeds that are present but instead creates a barrier to prevent new weed seed from germinating. The area must be made weed free prior to application of Preen either by hand-pulling or use of a liquid weed killer.
