It says for use it in basements but I thought you were not supposed to use a poly barrier in the wall construction against a basement wall?


The R-TECH film is considered a vapor retarder. If moisture is coming thru the cement, vapor retarders or barriers will create problems with moisture collection. The use of a poly barrier (vapor retarder) against cement wall should be considered only if NO moisture is present in and around the wall. Tape a small piece of poly to the wall and wait a few days. Observe is moisture is collected on the barrier.
