I think you need to sync your remote. To do this: RE-SYNCHING THE TRANSMITTER If the remote does not turn the devices on or off, the receiver and transmitter need to be re-synched. Plug the receiver into a properly grounded outlet. While the receiver LED is flashing, press the "ON" button on the remote, and then press the "OFF" button on the remote until the LED stops flashing.
