Is this essentially just mulch with gypsum in it? Is the active ingredient gypsum plus pine decomposing? Gypsum only helps approx 3 months- not a fix.

The Product is made from Aged Pine Bark Fines, much smaller particle size than mulch. The smaller particles more easily and readily work their way into compacted soils that have been gardened intensely or compacted over time. The Pine acts as a wedge to open up the soil for increased oxygen and water flow, this is called porosity. Gypsum is a source of Calcium Sulfate which is beneficial to changing the structure and fertility of heavy clay soils and on saline soils, helps neutralize the sodium and replace with beneficial Calcium. Gypsum is touted for many other purposes that are subject to debate, but science has proven its benefits to Clay and Saline soils. We do agree, 1 application of anything is not a fix to a soil compaction problem, those problems require a plan over time of increasing the organic matter to build large colonies of friendly microscopic biology that will be a long term benefit. Thank You.
