Can this be used to install a 4x16 ceramic tile on joint compound covered painted walls?


Eric, Type 1 can be used up 12" on any one side, so unfortunately we do not recommend using Type 1. If you want a premixed product you can use Premium Mortar to install 4x16 tiles. You should sand off the paint because it can be a bond breaker and then prime the walls with Primer T diluted 2:1 with water. Give us a call at MAPEI Product Support if you have any questions.
