Can this product be used to install kerdi membrane sheeting to concrete backer board.


Thank you for your inquiry regarding MAPEI Products! We are sorry for the delay in our response as our offices are closed on weekends. No, Mapei does not recommend using the Mapei Type 1 Mortar for your application. Based on Kerdi's recommendation, you must use a polymer modified thin set mortar for this use. For under the Kerdi, you can use the Mapei Porcelain Tile Mortar. If your tiles are larger than 15" or more on one side or more, to tile over the Kerdi, Mapei recommends using the Mapei Large Format Floor & Wall Tile Mortar.
