Trim board is notched out about 3/4 inch from the top on the back side of the board. Why is it notched, and is that the top part or bottom part


Thank you for your interest in our products. It appears the product you are referencing is LP SmartSide Fascia, which has a notch for soffit. This would be at the bottom of the piece.
