Anyone have an opinion about whether it’s necessary to have it on a pedestal? Is it uncomfortable to bend low enough to load and unload without it?

This question is from 2023, but I will give you my opinion. I’m 5’9”. We bought our first front load washer/dryer set 20 years ago, without pedestals. Now, we just purchased the above mentioned set, with pedestals. I don’t have back problems, but my height makes it inconvenient bending over, to see inside of the washer and dryer, for stray clothes.
