Can the washer door be opened during the rinse cycle?

The washer door can be opened only when the water level and temperature are low enough to safely do so, typically during the early stages of the wash cycle. However, once the rinse cycle begins and the drum is filled with water or spinning, the door will remain locked as a safety precaution. If you need to add an item, we recommend using the Add Item feature, which allows you to pause the cycle and add clothes when conditions are safe. To use this, press the Add Item button while the cycle is running.
