I believe this is how it is done. Assuming you are facing the window, and the roller shade is being mounted so the shade rolls down from the inside (that is: the roll at the top is visible when the shades are down): - The round hole one is installed on your right. - The oddly shaped slot one is installed to your left, with the opening in the slot facing you.
