what is the function of the adjustable fence on the outfeed side?


The outfeed fence is adjustable so that you can you the router as a jointer. As you run your work through the cutter, material will be removed so you adjust the outfeed fence to make up the difference and the work will stay tight against the fences as it's fed through.
