Hello, Thank you for your interest in Johns Manville's Attic Protector loose fill fiberglass insulation. If the product is installed at a thickness of 5.5 inches, the R-value would be R-13. The product has approximately 67 cubic feet per bag of material which allows the product to installed at thicknesses ranging from R-11 (5.2") to R-60 (24.3"). As you increase thickness, the square foot coverage will decrease. The coverage chart on the bag provides additional information. Best regards, Doug Fast
